Effortless Curls with the Peech Hair Flexwave: From Fresh Curls to Day-2 Touch-Ups

Effortless Curls with the Peech Hair Flexwave: From Fresh Curls to Day-2 Touch-Ups

If you love soft, shiny curls that last, the Flexwave Automatic Curler makes it easy—no wrist acrobatics required. Below is your complete guide: the best prep, exactly how to curl (and pin) for staying power, when to use heat protectant versus hold products, and how to keep curls beautiful on Day 2.

What You’ll Need

  • Peech Hair Flexwave Automatic Curler

  • Heat protectant (thermal spray or lightweight cream)

  • Sectioning clips + duckbill/setting clips or bobby pins (for pin curls)

  • Wide-tooth comb or detangling brush

  • Light hold mousse (optional, for damp hair prep days)

  • Texture spray or light hairspray (for finishing)

  • Anti-frizz serum or hair oil (optional, mid-lengths to ends)

Step 1: Smart Prep = Longer-Lasting Curls

  1. Start with dry, detangled hair.

  2. Apply heat protectant first. Mist lightly from mid-lengths to ends and comb through for even coverage.

  3. Choose the lowest temperature that gives you a curl.

    • Fine/fragile hair: start low–medium.

    • Medium hair: medium setting.

    • Coarse/resistant hair: medium–high.

  4. Optional “foundation hold” on wash days: If you’re starting from damp hair, apply a golf-ball–size amount of light hold mousse roots to ends, blow-dry smooth, then proceed. This builds memory into the curl.

Order matters: Heat protectant goes on before any heat. Strong hold products (hairspray/texture spray) work after curls cool.

Step 2: Section Like a Pro

  • Split hair into top, middle, bottom zones; clip away what you’re not curling.

  • Work in 2–3 cm (¾–1 in) sections. Thicker sections = looser waves; smaller sections = tighter curls.

Step 3: Curl with the Flexwave (Fool-Proof Flow)

  1. Hold the Flexwave vertically.

  2. Place the ends of a small section in the curler’s guide and press the curl button to auto-wrap.

  3. Hold for the device’s recommended time (shorter = softer wave; longer = bouncier curl).

  4. Release gently—don’t brush yet.

Direction tips:

  • Curl away from the face on front sections for an open, modern look.

  • Alternate directions on the back sections for natural movement.

Step 4: Pin Curls While They Cool (The Stay-Power Secret)

“Setting” locks in the shape as the hair cools and dramatically increases longevity.

How to pin-curl each section:

  1. Catch the fresh curl in your palm and re-roll it up toward the scalp in the same spiral shape.

  2. Lay the coil flat against the head (like a cinnamon roll).

  3. Secure with a duckbill/setting clip or two bobby pins in an “X.”

  4. Move on to the next section.

  5. Let curls cool completely—ideally 10–20 minutes. Use this time for makeup, outfit, or emails.

Pro move: Fine hair? Lightly mist a flexible hairspray over the pinned set (not soaking), then let cool.

Step 5: Release, Finish & Polish

  1. Remove all clips and let curls fall.

  2. Hands first, brush last: Separate with fingers; for softer glam, use a wide-tooth comb or a soft paddle brush.

  3. Finish with your chosen styler:

    • Texture spray for airy, beachy definition.

    • Light hairspray for hold without stiffness.

    • A pea-size of serum/oil on mid-lengths to ends for shine and frizz control (avoid roots).

When to Use Heat Protectant vs. Hold Products

  • Heat protectant: Before any hot tool, on dry hair (or damp pre-blow-dry), mid-lengths to ends.

  • Mousse (foundation hold): On damp hair before blow-drying on wash days; gives memory without crunch.

  • Texture spray or hairspray: After curls are cooled and set. Mist lightly and build as needed.

Day-2: Keep or Refresh Your Curls

Night-of (to protect for Day-2)

  • Sleep on a silk pillowcase or loosely “pineapple” hair with a silk scrunchie (high, soft pony).

  • If you get puffy ends, twist the bottom half into two loose rope braids and secure softly.

Morning Refresh (choose your path)

If curls still look good:

  • Flip, shake out with fingertips, and mist dry shampoo at the roots, then massage in.

  • Add a puff of texture spray through mid-lengths for bounce.

If curls dropped in spots:

  1. Spot-re-curl only the top layer or face-framing pieces with Flexwave on a slightly lower temp than Day-1.

  2. Hold for a few seconds less than yesterday—just enough to “remind” the shape.

  3. Let the new curls cool for 3–5 minutes (you can pinch-clip these few pieces if you want extra hold), then lightly blend with fingers.

  4. Finish with a micro-mist of flexible hairspray.

If ends are fuzzy but you don’t want more curl:

  • Glide a thermal brush (like our Thermal Brush Pro) through the last 5–8 cm (2–3 in) to smooth, then scrunch to re-activate movement.

Troubleshooting

  • Curls won’t hold: Use smaller sections, pin-set longer, and add mousse on your next wash day; avoid heavy conditioner at roots.

  • Too tight: Lower temp or reduce hold time; brush out with a soft brush and finish with a light oil.

  • Frizz: Ensure hair is fully dry before curling, use heat protectant evenly, and seal with serum/oil on ends only.

Quick Recap (for your mirror)

  1. Heat protectant on dry hair → lowest effective temp.

  2. Curl small sections; alternate directions; pin each curl until fully cool.

  3. Release, then finish with texture spray or flexible hairspray.

  4. Night-of protection (silk, pineapple).

  5. Day-2: dry shampoo at roots, spot-re-curl only what you see, cool, then mist.
